17776 is a webcomic – sort of – which was written and animated by Jon Bois.
It incorporates Youtube videos and animated Google Maps distances it from your traditional pen-and-ink and word balloons style of comics.
It’s also one of the most surprising and thought-provoking works of science fiction I’ve experienced in a long time.
A brief description won’t do it justice, so I will just note that (a) it looks like it’s about American football but is not really, and (b) you do need to stay with the opening until you get it.
Trust me: it’s worth it.
